Utzon Center Aalborg

Utzon on the harbour front

From the Aalborg Tower (a 105 metre high landmark preserved from a trade exhibition in 1933) you can see out over the city, which is Denmark's fourth biggest town, and has an airport, an Academy of Music and a University. At Aalborg harbour front you can see the Utzon Centre, which conveys art, architecture and design with Jørn Utzon as inspiration and role model. In Aalborg, you can also see Northern Jutland Art Gallery, which was designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Alto.

The heaths of Himmerland and African savannah

The heaths of the Himmerland region are the remains of an enormous heath area, which once stretched southwards from Limfjorden to Rold Forest. The east Himmerland moor, called Lille Vildmose, is the largest high moor in north-western Europe. The countryside in Lille Vildmose offers opportunities to see both deer and golden eagles. You can also see an African savannah with exotic animals in Aalborg Zoo.
