Yet Danish films have in recent years enjoyed much global success especially with the rise of the Dogma movement since the 1990s. This period has helped create the second golden era of Danish film (the first being in the silent-era).
Since the Dogma movement this has helped give more Danish actors an international career. Including Mads Mikkelsen, but the brightest (half-) Danish star in Hollywood remains Viggo “Aragorn” Mortensen.
